Beautiful, comfortable artist's house, that is tastefully furnished. Located on a very quiet 5 acre property abutting Mt Everett State Reservation with Race Brook runs past the house. A 2.5 hour drive from New York City and Boston. You can just relax, hike, visit concerts in Tanglewood or go fine dining.
This is a 3 bedroom (2 beds, 1 sofa-bed and 1 toddler bed) and 2,5 bathroom house. The living area is light and has an open floor plan with an open wood-burning fireplace and a gourmet kitchen. There is a large lawn with outside seating and BBQ. Fast cable internet allows for working fully remotely. Washer and dryer are in the basement.

Summary: If you want privacy and a tranquil location this is the place, but still close to many of the outdoor activities. Beautiful home with well equipped kitchen.

Summary: We had a wonderful time at the house. The owner Juergen was ideal to deal with, quick to respond and most hospitable. The house was roomy and clean and had every amenity needed including a "turbo kitchen" for any serious cook- and the area had numerous quality food options. Scenery was beautiful as we watched the leaves change colors. Only issue was the cold weather outside for us however sitting by the wood burning fireplace more than compensated and the heat in the house was fine. Tons of books of all types and most interesting and diverse artwork and artifacts. A great find.

Summary: We loved our stay at the Undermountain cottage in the woods. It’s a special place with lots of loving attention to detail. The house is both charming and spacious with a great kitchen and comfortable beds. Great hiking and biking and close enough to restaurants and shopping too. We will definitely be back.

Summary: As so many reviewers report, this is a very pleasant and beautifully decorated house. We found much to do in the region – many places to walk, some fascinating historical sites like the W.E.B. DuBois homesite, the River Walk in Great Barrington, several Trustees properties. Juergen offered many ideas for things to do and places to eat in the region.
